How we rate
Groupframe ratings are not live yet. Any scores currently shown on casino cards are external editorial ratings, not Groupframe reviews. Our own ratings will only appear once the checks and scoring method below are documented and ready to support them.
A score you cannot interrogate is worth nothing. Plenty of comparison sites publish one anyway, and plenty of them are shaped by who pays. This page tells you exactly what we look at, so you can decide whether our judgement is worth your attention.
The five checks
Every brand goes through the same five checks, in the same order, and each one has to be confirmed against a source we can date and cite.
- Operator identity. Which legal company is named in the account terms for your market, and does it match the entity in the footer. If a site will not tell you plainly who runs it, that is a finding in itself.
- Licence status. The licence number and holder as they appear on the regulator's own register. Not as claimed in a footer badge, which anyone can copy.
- Terms clarity. Whether wagering requirements, maximum bets, withdrawal caps and expiry dates are findable before you deposit, or only after.
- Payments and withdrawals. Published minimums, limits, fees and processing stages, and whether the route that takes your deposit will also send your winnings back.
- Player protection. Deposit limits, time-outs, reality checks and self-exclusion, including how far their scope reaches across connected brands.
How the checks become a score
Our planned approach is to score each check on what is documented and how honestly it is presented. A condition that is standard for the market but buried four clicks deep should score lower than the same condition stated in the offer summary. Burying it is a choice, and we treat it as one.
A missing detail is never a neutral result. If we cannot confirm the operating entity or find the licence on the register, the brand will not receive a Groupframe rating until we can.
Before our scores go live, we will publish the scale, weighting and findings next to the number. You should never have to accept a single figure on trust, including ours.
What our score cannot tell you
It describes documented conditions on the date shown. It does not predict how your account will be handled, how fast one withdrawal will arrive, or how support will treat a dispute.
It is not a recommendation to open an account, and it says nothing about your chances of winning. Casino games generally carry a built-in advantage for the operator. A well-run site is still a site where you can lose money.
A strong score also says nothing about a brand's sister sites. Connected casinos routinely run different promotions, payment routes and account rules, and you have to check the one in front of you.
Nobody can buy a score
No operator can pay for a higher rating, a place in a listing or the removal of a finding it dislikes. Where a link earns us a commission we say so on the page and in our affiliate disclosure. The checks run the same either way.
Re-checks and corrections
Terms change without telling us, so every rated page will carry the date we last looked. We will re-check when an operator, licence or headline term changes, and on a schedule otherwise.
